LGBTQ+ Therapy

For folx who want to come to a place of self-acceptance and confidence in who they are.

Stop apologizing for who you really are.

Sound familiar?

  • Experiencing shame about your identity

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself

  • Being deadnamed by your family

  • Wanting to embrace your gender and sexuality

  • Trying to find your way in a world that makes it hard to feel safe & sane

  • Experiencing discrimination or micro-aggressions

  • Struggling to find fulfilling romantic relationships

You know who you are (deep down, maybe you always have).

But living that out hasn’t been easy.

You’re tired of feeling afraid of how people will or won’t treat you because you’re out or in transition. You feel silently judged by the people who say they love you, and it’s beginning to affect the way you feel about yourself.

We believe:

You have a right to the future you want.

What we’ll work on

Identify

What’s truly important to you. Find a set of core values that are authentic to you and can serve as your North Star as you start making changes.

Prepare

For important steps on your unique journey.

Rewrite

The narratives that our socio-political culture have forced on you and who you are. Begin to see yourself in the story of your life.

Problem-Solve

How to start making your own changes, even if the circumstances around you don’t change. Feel confident asking for what you want and need.

Receive

Support and validation. We want to know your story. This is a place where you will be seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are.

Create

A plan for how you want your future to look, and then start taking the steps to get you there. Improve your relationship to yourself & others.

What if

You could move through the world in a way that’s aligned to who you truly are?

What if you could shed the expectations and judgment from those around you and embrace the love and acceptance from newer, more fulfilling relationships? What if you felt less afraid of (and more in tune with) who you are?

You get to write your story.

Frequently Asked Questions about LGBTQ counseling

  • First of all, we’re sorry that you may have had a poor experience in therapy in the past, and we commend you for revisiting the idea! Sometimes, well-meaning therapists who are not trained in LGBTQ+ care can inadvertently cause more damage. Our team has deep expertise in LGBTQ+ concerns and are also members of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). We understand there are many nuances to moving through today’s world as an LGBTQ+ person, and we bring this knowledge into the way we guide and support you. If you have more questions about this, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our practice directly at: (951) 755- 1070.

  • It means making decisions from a place of confidence and integrity, living in abundance rather than scarcity or fear, and connecting with the truest version of yourself.

When you’re a member of the LGBTQ+ community, you’ve experienced day in and day out the cultural narratives that make it even more difficult to live in this way. Our work is focused on deconstructing these things, believing all people possess strengths to overcome their challenges and sometimes just need to collaborate with someone to identify what those are.

Self-compassion, humane goals, self awareness and committed action are how we ultimately discover our convictions and ourselves in order to live authentically.
